Insects and animals

Mexico is a country with a rich variety of insects, snakes, spiders and other living things.
In both urban and rural areas, you should not come into contact with stray animals. To protect against mosquitoes, mosquitoes, it is recommended to use repellents. If you have been stung by a jellyfish, snake, scorpion or spider, if possible, photograph the creature so that the doctor can quickly administer the necessary antidote. If you spent the night outside the city, wake up, be sure to shake your clothes and shoes, as an unnamed guest in the form of a scorpion, a spider or a snake may be hiding there.

  2. Provide all the necessary information regarding the insured event and the symptoms with which the illness proceeds.
  3. The representative of the assistance company will find a suitable medical institution where you should go. If the clinic is far from your place of stay, ask what type of transport you can use and whether the trip will be paid for by the insurance company later. For payment, keep all documents proving your transportation costs to the medical facility. These documents must reflect the cost and route (if possible).
  4. Upon arrival at the medical facility, do not pay for any services other than those agreed with the assistance company. Do not leave any important documents at registration.
  5. Keep all documents that prove the costs of purchased drugs.

Public Transport

Mexico is a large country with a great transport infrastructure. Their roads are good, but sometimes they can be unsafe. Public transportation in the country is composed mostly of buses, as trains are barely used. Ticket prices are also low, thus encouraging the use of public transportation.
Road traffic is on the right side.

Trains

Train infrastructure in Mexico is almost non-existant. Ferrocarril Chihuahua Pacífico is pretty much the only passenger route that still operates in the country. There are also some other, smaller routes, but overall, trains are not popular in the country at all. Some cities in the country also have their own light rail systems.

Bus

Buses are pretty much the only ground based public transport in Mexico, as trains are barely existant. Bus services are great, with buses being comfortable, fast and reliable. There are many routes throughout the country, you can pretty almost reach anything in the country by taking a bus. They are mostly safe, but theft does sometimes occur. All buses in the country have three classes: first class, second class and deluxe class. Each route has a different class. There are many companies in Mexico operating buses, with the most popular ones being Grupo ADO (www.ado.com.mx), ETN Turistar (www.etn.com.mx) and Primera Plus (www.primeraplus.com.mx). Major cities like Mexico City, have their own local bus infrastructure. Bus stops in the cities are not common, you must flag one down for it to stop. Various minibuses and vans can also provide bus services, but they are less reliable.

The best places to stay with children

The best option for a vacation with a child is the Riviera Maya resorts: here the waves are not as high as in the Pacific Ocean, and after a long flight you do not need to spend a lot of time on the transfer to your destination.

In Cancun, the safe beaches along the northern end of Boulevard Kukulkan are best suited for toddlers, with the calmest sea.
Families with older children are better off choosing Playa del Carmen, where they offer educational excursions to the pyramids and Mayan cities, to the Xplor Park and Xcaret Park eco-parks.

What to take with you?
  • Light clothing, preferably made of natural fabrics. For going to a restaurant – evening dress. If you are planning excursions to the mountainous regions of the country, stock up on warm clothes and suitable footwear, and for trips to ancient Mayan settlements it is better to have a long-sleeved T-shirt and light trousers. for sun protection;
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Beach accessories and high factor sunscreen. Snorkelers can bring their own special equipment.
  • Necessary medicines: drugs for headaches, drugs for poisoning and indigestion, cardiovascular and choleretic drugs, eye drops, iodine, brilliant green and dressings. In addition to the first-aid kit, you may also need: remedies for motion sickness and insect bites, adhesive plaster, wet wipes and hand sanitizer. If special medications are needed, translate the prescription into English and have it certified by your doctor. On this basis, you will be able to buy medicines from a Mexican pharmacy.

Highway

Usually all good roads are toll roads. They have their advantages:
– no police officers;
– no tops;
– you can drive at almost any speed.
But there is also the main disadvantage – the price. The roads are not cheap, sometimes you can pay up to 400 ($ 18.71) pesos for a plot. And the sections themselves are not always long. There are roads for 100 pesos (about $ 4.68) for 25 kilometers.
Payment can be made in two ways. The first is when you pay immediately at a payment point. The second way is when you are given something like a check, and you pay for it after you have passed the required section
